40 fabulous holiday cookie recipes
[You can never have too many cookie recipes on hand at this time of year, and I've collected some of my all-time favorites. Please enjoy this post from the archives.]
'Tis the season to make merry, and to make cookies. And to swap cookies, and decorate cookies, and pack cookies in tins and send them to friends and family far away. For me, there are only two types of holiday cookies: ones with chocolate, and ones without. Of the hundreds and hundreds of cookie recipes I've seen on food blogs, here are 40 of my favorites.

My neighborhood cookie swap was last night so I now have 14 different cookies in my house. When they are done I'll work my way through your list!
Janice, what were your favorites from the cookie swap?
Cookies. I guess I should bake some, lol!
Kalyn, I only bake when I'm giving them away that very same day! Can't be trusted with home-baked cookies around the house.
Looking to forward to trying some of these with my grandkids. Hugs to you this holiday season. Candelaria
Lydia, your Mexican chocolate cookies are a treat: http://www.theperfectpantry.com/2011/06/recipe-for-mexican-chocolate-cookies.html
Candelaria, baking with grandkids is the best! Happy holidays to you.
Susan, they are real favorites of mine, too. Not too sweet.
Lydia, there was a Mexican chocolate cookie that was yummy. And I always love the Italian anise cookies. :)
