Podcasts in the Pantry: What are your favorites?
Serial introduced me to podcasts. On one weekend drive to New York City, my husband Ted and I binge-listened to the entire first season. I wanted more.
Debbie Millman's Design Matters podcast kept me hooked; I even watched a telecast of her podcast. I wanted more.
Public television brought us Julia Child, and public radio brought us The Splendid Table, hosted by Lynn Rossetto Kasper, more than 20 years ago and still going strong. They also brought us Radiolab, one of my granddaughter's delightful addictions.
I never listened to food podcasts very much until I met Janice and Liz, the Meal Makeover Moms, and discovered their great podcast. Now I enjoy listening to my friend Jane's This Week for Dinner, which features interviews with food bloggers. I also tune in occasionally to Burnt Toast (from the folks who bring you Food 52), and Spilled Milk (from Molly Wizenberg, of the lovely Orangette).
What food podcasts do you listen to while you work, or while you walk, or while you're driving in the car? Or, do you prefer podcasts that aren't about food at all? What do you listen to when you cook? What are your favorites?

I used to like to listen to Spilled Milk, but the hosts need to learn to avoid saying "like" as every other word ("it's like my like favorite like thing to like eat"). Splendid Table is far easier to listen to, even if the questions from many of the callers could have been easily answered with a quick Google search.
I did enjoy being interviewed for Jane and the podcasts at This Week for Dinner are about the only ones I've listened to.
Thanks for the shout out to my Cooking with the Moms podcast. We just recorded episode #288! I think it's about time for me to listen to Serial, since everyone talks about it. The problem is that my commute is just downstairs to my kitchen and I work out with a friend so the usual times to listen don't work for me. But you made me remember that I can listen in the car, so summer trips to the lake might be just the time. Hope you have a great weekend!
I've enjoyed some of the episodes of Gastropod and some of Fugitive Waves with the Kitchen Sisters, but my favorite overall podcast is 99% Invisible, it has a few food-related episodes, but covers lots of other things, too.
