No Kid Hungry in 2013. We can do this.
Every year on January 1, I ask The Perfect Pantry's readers to help end childhood hunger in America by taking one action, sharing one post, donating one dollar, tweeting one link.
This year, a year in which politics consumed our nation, storms devastated many parts of the country, and violence against a community and its youngest school children shocked us, I feel more strongly than ever that, working together, we can do more to ensure that every kid in America has good, healthy food, and enough of it, every single day. That doesn't seem like too much to ask, even from a society that has become polarized around so many issues. Surely we can agree on this.

Today, at the start of a hopeful new year, please do this one thing: share this post, or these links, on Facebook or Twitter, or email to your friends, because no child should go hungry.

Happy New Year, and thank you, dear readers, for all you do to make The Perfect Pantry a place I want to hang out. I love your comments and emails and feedback. The recipes you send and questions you raise inspire me every day. I've got plenty of new recipes to use the ingredients you already have in your pantries, so I hope you'll stick around in 2013.
Disclosure: The Perfect Pantry earns a few pennies on purchases made through the Amazon.com links in this post. Thank you for supporting this site when you start your shopping here.

Happy New Year!
Sally, thanks so much, and happy new year to you, too.
You have a good heart, Lydia. I've linked on my fb page.
This is a perfect project for 2013. Thanks, Lydia!
Christine and Candy, thanks for joining in this effort, and happy new year to you both.
Such a simple thing, it is hard to understand why our country can't do better at this problem. I do try to make regular contributions, but I need to kick it up a little.
Kalyn, it's been a trying year, yet I'm hopeful that 2013 will see a renewed effort to make sure every child in this country has enough, and nutritious, food to eat, every single day. Thanks for joining me in this.
You are an inspiration! I will do some small part this year because of you!
