The Pantry Quiz #7
What's In a Name?
A toponym is a name derived from a place. Think Brussels sprouts, or Savoy cabbage, or Black Forest cake. Several varieties of pepper on The Perfect Pantry's spice rack are toponyms. Name three of them. (Hint: they're all the same color.)
Please leave your answer in the comments, and let us know whether you have the ingredient in your pantry.
[Last week's answer: Mineral oil, not vegetable oil, is used to make candy corn.]

My guess is:
Urfa pepper
Aleppo pepper
Szechuan pepper
Thanks for introducing me to the first two, I'd never heard of them and certainly don't have them in the pantry.
Ah ha! Got Georgina's 1st 2, missed the szechuan -- which I have along with the aleppo. Great new vocab word.
Okay, not to be too picky, but in answer to last week's quiz, it must depend on the brand. Of the four flavors that I have, all made by Brach's, not one has egg whites or mineral oil. :)
For this week's, I'm going with Aleppo, Piment d'Espelette, and Szechuan. I don't have a single one in my pantry, though I've often considered buying the Szechuan.
Aleppo Pepper and Szechuan peppercorns I have. If the third one is Urfa pepper, I don't have that. (Is it similar to Aleppo pepper, that's what I'm thinking.)
I am with Georgina up above!!
Urfa (I believe that's what the picture is), Aleppo, and Szechuan. All delicious, and all in my pantry. Thanks, Lydia!
