Number 2, not a common pantry item, but well worth exploring. I just happen to have a bottle...and I share.
#2 - no i do not have this, yet.
Okay. I have no clue. But I'm going with #2 because everyone else is.
#2 -- Well, I made it once (recipe in the Time-Life series, Foods of the World. I have something like it which is Vietnamese, but not with that name. (Anyone know what that is?)
Usually I know before I look at the recipes but not a clue today. I'm going with #2. I'll have to get some and try it.

I do not have this in my pantry, but now I want some! I think it is recipe #2
#2. My husband is Dutch so Indonesian food is big in our household. I used it for Indonesian Pilaf and several Dutch recipes. YUM!
You really stumped me on this one, Lydia. Had to look. Have never seen this - anywhere. #2 and good on you! :-)
I usually try to guess before I look at the recipes, too. But holy cow. I've never heard of #2 before. Gotta cheat to see!
If I had been the first one here I could not have guessed. This is an ingredient I've never cooked with.

When I looked at the photo I guessed something that it definitely is not because one would not find it in any one of these recipes. But now I want it!
