Market to Pantry #10: New Leaf Community Market, Santa Cruz, California
From Ben and Sandra, in Alameda, California:
A few months ago we discovered New Leaf Community Market; they have five locations, two in Santa Cruz and in Capitola, Felton and Boulder Creek.
Sandra liked the breadth of items, a good gluten free selection the quality of produce and other products, and they have some fun things. We also liked that they have a commitment to local community.
I liked the broad selection of items independent of what part of the store you were in -- wine, cheese, olives, fresh vegetables, prepared food, spices, etc.
Next time we visit Santa Cruz, we definitely will shop here.
Disclosure: The Perfect Pantry earns a few pennies on purchases made through the Amazon.com links in this post. Thank you for supporting this site when you start your shopping here.
You are so lucky to have access to incredible shops like this one.....its no wonder everyone wants to 'go west!'
thanks for sharing
This store (pantry) quite similar to the one I work at in Milwaukee, Outpost Natural Foods Co-op. What a great opportunity to be able to cook with the options of so many local fresh products. I knew two of the original owners years ago, Rex and Chris.
Looks like a fabulous place!
We're moving to Alameda in a few months (military transfer) so this is interesting to see. We'll have to make a visit to Santa Cruz after we get settled and check it out. Thanks for sharing!
The outside is deceptive -- there's a lot hiding in there.
This is the kind of "window shopping" I love.
Hi Ben and Sandra, thanks so much for stopping in our store on Westside Santa Cruz. We're glad you enjoyed your visit! Just so you know we do have a store in Half Moon Bay as well.
If you email us your address, we'll send you a coupon for your next trip. Write us at info(at)newleaf(dot com)
Great store! and I love that the catnip is right there on the shelf next to the basil, etc!!
