Other People's Pantries #60

From Cora, in Irvine, California:

Thought you might find amusing this photo I took of a pantry at a rental cabin in Heber, Arizona. The cabin is rented out to the public and is full of signs like this.

And here's what we found in the fridge!

On Saturdays, we peek into Other People's Pantries.

Come on -- show us your pantry.

Here's how.

Food for thought: The aliens returned Travis Walton in/near Heber.

Check out the book "The Walton Experience" or the Hollywood-ized movie version: Fire in the Sky.

Bwahahahaha!

Nice town, tho'.

That's too funny. Guess most people would leave that bottle of brains alone.

Maybe I should start labeling my most precious food possessions with an interesting title...might just stay in the fridge that way!

So funny! The brains look good though, did you try them?

Stashed Brains - How considerate just in case you forgot to bring your own.

Looks like a great Bloody Mary to me!

LOL!

hahahahaaa brilliant - 'keep spices in alphabetical order'??

I'm just impressed they actually had more than salt and pepper!

You have to wonder just how old spices are in places like that...but I do love that note.
And I think I'll start keeping "Brains" in my fridge for when company comes over. What a riot!

Ha, ha, ha! This is TOO funny. I love your series on "Other People's Pantries" -- they are so revealing. Are you really phasing out this thread? Oh no!

I have just now found your blog and I LOVE it!!!
My family spent 2.5 weeks on a remote island in Maine. I wish I would have made a picture of the pantry in the house we were staying at! I'm not sure how far a cook would have gotten with boullion cubes, baking soda, and crackers!

Alphabetical order: Always the dilemma, how do you find anything? I had spices grouped by 'topic' -- italian, baking spices, etc. My son (then about 15) improved it -- he alphabetized them. Oddly enough, that small spice rack is just as he left it, 25 years later. And, years ago, a cousin was visiting her mother after being on her own and in another country for at least 5 years, and reorganized her mother's spices -- I was horrified at what she did, even though I was only mildly annoyed at my son. Hmmm.
