Other People's Pantries #47

From Thessa, in Sesimbra, Portugal:

It's great to peek into all these pantries and it's just fair I send a few photos of mine. I live alone but I enjoy to experiment with new recipes and different foods so I always keep a lot of food at home.

I used to have a walk-in pantry that became my laundry room so now I don't have all my food in one place. I have a few cupboards where I keep my food and sometimes even over the counter tops. I've a bit more than I'm showing you but those are on the bottom shelves behind the plates and other china stuff. It's mostly cans of beans (all sorts), cans of pineapple and rice packets I keep there for lack of space.

On Saturdays, we peek into Other People's Pantries.

Come on -- show us your pantry.

*Other People's Pantries will be ending in early 2009 to make way for a new Saturday feature. If you'd like to share your pantry photos, please send them as soon as possible!

Here's how.

This is such an interesting and fun event. I'm going to take some photos and submit my pantry.

A gal after my own heart, what a great collection of flavours and ingredients!

I love those blue topped jars. Are they new or reused? My reused collection is totally uncoordinated! And, it's good to see someone starting with the basics. Thanks for the peek.

I love this pantry - so organized full of interesting things.

I love all the glass jars! I've been switching all my stuff over the glass. I also love that a lot of the jars are saved, great way to reuse.

Thank you all for your kind words. As a matter of fact I like to experiment new foods and flavors and condiments are a big part of that. The blue topped jars and the white ones (the tall ones on the middle shelf) are new, all the others are reused. I bought the blue topped jars at the back almost thirty years ago. They were new but already vintage at the time and I love them. You can see them here http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/5376/cocina4nq6.jpg when I used to have them on the counter. I keep changing things around as you can see.

I reuse almost any kind of glass jar. Sometimes I even buy an ingredient just to get the jar. It is almost as fun as to peek at other’s pantries!

Wow I love all the beans and the blue top have such cute shapes.
So orderly. Thanks for the peek.

Very organized! The more I cook, the messier my cupboards and pantry get. I can either cook or clean the pantry. I cook!
