This photo, from December 2012, remains one of my favorite images of our little log house. (Yesterday, all of the recent snow melted in 50-degree weather. It's more like mud season around here.) Though it represents a lot of shoveling to cut a path in the snow from the house to the driveway (which then gets attended to by a plow guy -- a necessity out here in the woods), it's a beautiful view of the fresh snow. Clean, like it never looks in the city. Whenever we leave, I will miss this place. I won't miss the shoveling, but I'll miss the clean white snow.
Now, on to the happys: happy snowballs, happy wrapping paper, happy parade of roses, happy weird sweaters, happy day of rest, happy day of eats, happy day of football.
