The Pantry Alphabet: C

Pantry-alphabet-c

What is it?

Do you have this ingredient in your pantry?

Which of these recipes from The Perfect Pantry contains today's ingredient?

1. Chicken with mango barbecue sauce
2. Turkey and white bean chili
3. Vegan black bean and sweet potato stew

When you guess which recipe contains the ingredient, please leave only the number 1, 2 or 3 in the comments below. Please don't leave the name of the ingredient, so others can have fun guessing, too. And let us know if you have this in your pantry.

(Spoiler alert: Where there's smoke, there's fire.)

See you next Saturday, for the letter D.

Last week: bay leaves, also called bay laurel.

Recipe #3 has this ingredient in it Lydia. When I am in the States I buy the larger cans.

#3 :)
I made a soup with this ingredient once... it seemed to cause the soup to ferment (thus exploding when the container was opened) which earned it the title of "The Angry Soup". Didn't do so well in that recipe, but I do still keep some on hand since I love the flavour so!

C.

C, one of my favorite ingredients, I probably would have put some in all three recipes.

Lydia, you are diabolically clever, leading us back to previous recipes! I just made "Quick and Easy Black Beans and Rice," which I saw as I perused some of your entries. It was delicious - and as easy as promised. Thank you!
