Market to Pantry #25: Powell River Open Air Market, British Columbia
From Kevin, in Powell River, British Columbia (Canada):
This is the Powell River Open Air Market, in Powell River, BC. It's a mix of foods (vegetables, baking, freshly ground flour and home-made pasta, canning, honey, oysters, occasionally meat and cheeses), flowers and plants, and crafts, and has a very popular open mike stage and social areas.
This is my daughter and me at our very first market in April 2004, so you get the view from behind the counter. Other pics are from a shopper's point of view.
[Note: Kevin shared his pantry photos a couple of months ago: Other People's Pantries #173.]
On Saturdays, for almost four years, we've peeked into Other People's Pantries. There are two more pantries to share with you. I know that many of you love Other People's Pantries. I do, too. If you'd like this feature to continue, now's the time to send in your pantry photos. Here's how.
Market to Pantry alternates on Saturdays with Other People's Pantries. It's so much fun to visit markets all around the world. There are two more markets to share. So, please show us your favorite supermarket, farmers' market, ethnic market, big box store, vacation find or roadside stand. We'd love to see where you shop for food. Here's how.

But for pizza you need tomatoes, so you still need us for that :)

I'm so glad you shared this, Kevin! The next time I am visiting my good friends in Comox, I am going to make the extra drive to Powell River. I'll watch for you and your daughter at the market!

What a lovely setting for a market! I like that open mike stage - great for amateur musicians.
