Sugar cookies spread the love
Once a year (okay, sometimes more than once), I step outside the pantry ever so briefly to tell you about Drop In & Decorate, an organization I founded to help spread cookie love in local communities all around the world.
This year, I'm letting others do the talking, starting with this video filmed at three events by Allrecipes.com as part of their Cookies Across America program.
Please take a moment to visit What's Cooking With Kids, where you'll find more photos from Michelle's fabulous Drop In & Decorate® cookie decorating party with some very creative children.
Here in Rhode Island, our own Drop In & Decorate event this past weekend decorated and donated 650 cookies to food pantries and emergency shelters throughout the state. Now I'm taking a few days off, and I'll be back at the end of the week in time for Market to Pantry on Saturday.
Between now and then, promise me that you'll listen to a conversation about Drop In & Decorate with the Meal Makeover Moms and me on their weekly podcast. I had so much fun chatting with Janice and Liz, and I'm grateful to them for helping to spread the cookie love.

You must be so proud of the way Drop in and Decorate has grown! It's such a wonderful idea- one of those organically resonate concepts that make you think- Of course! Why hasn't this been does before? Congratulations on D and D's massive success. And may it continue to grow and expand. You're amazing, Lydia!
