My goodness, The Perfect Pantry has been nominated thrice for a Thinking Blogger Award, from opposite ends of the globe. Special thanks to TW Barritt of Culinary Types, who blogs in New York, and Steven of Mad Chilli, who writes from Perth, Australia, and Callipygia of Food Chair, in New Hampshire, for naming this blog one of the five that make them think. I do try!
Now it's my turn to nominate five bloggers whose work jiggles my brain cells. If any of you have been nominated previously, then you'll know that you are twice loved.
1. Chip and Brys of Cookthink (really, what better name for thinking bloggers?) approach food and cooking by getting the basics down right, and then spinning off from a solid foundation. The Root Source, a regular feature on both web site and blog, examines individual ingredients — how to cook, store and serve.
2. Patti, of 37 Days, writes compelling posts, using art, poetry, and photographs, that lead readers to consider life's important moments and relationships. What would you do if you only had 37 days to live?
3. Tana, at I Heart Farms, reminds us of the important issues surrounding sustainable family farming, and is a passionate advocate for small farms and honest food.
4. Luisa, at The Wednesday Chef, doesn't take for granted that just because a recipe appears in a newspaper, or is written by a famous chef, that it will work. Hooray for her careful and thoughtful analysis of recipes from the NY Times and the LA Times.
5. Nupur, at One Hot Stove, has undertaken the monumental task of educating all of us about Indian vegetarian cooking, going A-Z through the alphabet. Her posts are informative, thought-provoking, culturally and culinarily enlightening.
Please visit these thinking bloggers. You'll be glad you did.

Congratualtions! You deserve it. I was just talking about what a fabulous blog you have, the other day!

So much Perfect Pantry love, Lydia! Thanks so much for the kind words and Bookworm feature. We have to have a conversation about pantries soon. Maybe over cheese at La Laiterie?

Sher, Katie and Nupur, thank you., but you are the ones who inspire me!
Pauline, that's high praise, coming from someone who works at a library!
Chip, let me know when you're in Providence next time; I'd love it.
