Drop In and Decorate is one of the best events! It's fun, community building, and an outlet for bizarre creativity. The poeple who have come to Lydia's kitchen for the past 5 years all arrive with smiles on their faces! I've witnessed old friends get reaquainted, new friends made, neighbors meeting, library board members recruited. It's just great!

I never would have thought of the egg + compromised immune system connection. You truly are amazing.

Meringue powder! What a great idea. I don't think we'll get that here :(

LOL. I don't think you can get meringue powder in my far northern outpost either, unless they can bring it in my dogsled.

Sarina, welcome to The Perfect Pantry.

Everyone -- King Arthur Flour (www.kingarthurflour.com) sells meringue powder in eight-ounce containers, enough for 5-6 batches of royal icing using this recipe. It really makes wonderful icing for our holiday cookies.

Thanks for the URL lydia :) Importing stuff from the Net is a bit steep right now but once my circumstances improve I'll definitely look into it :D

Mimi: You are in a northern outpost :) How exciting. Saw about life in one once on TV :)
