I've been looking for dumpling recipes... one with shitake mushrooms...guess I found it. :). I love dumplings, it's always a challenge to find the right wrapper for it ... your guidelines help a lot.

What a great informative post! I have always wanted to try making dumplings at home. Thanks for sharing this detailed vegetarian recipe.

Veron, I think you'll like these mushroom-based dumplings. The filling makes a lot, so you can make extra dumplings and freeze them. I've cooked them as potstickers, and also in soup. Nice and light.

Nupur, welcome to The Perfect Pantry. Having dumpling wrappers on hand makes it so easy to do these. You can make dough from scratch, too...but I never seem to have the time to do it. By the way, I love your blog!

I feel the same way about puff pastry dough as you do about dumpling wrappers. But winter and spring make me hungry for Asian food so maybe I'll pick some up and try homemade pot stickers.

I´ve only recently discovered your blog, am loving it. Have just bought a bottle of barbecue sauce, very exotic ingredient in Spain, but I found it, finally.
Happy New Year.
